30th Annual AT&T Fourth of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks

Norfolk, VA ( June 19, 2012)– Norfolk Festevents announced today the celebration of our Nation’s birthday the good old fashioned American way, with two great events that are sure to bring out the pride and patriotism of all in attendance. The celebration starts early with The Shore Thing Concert & Independence Day Celebration on Friday, June 29, 2012 in Ocean View Beach Park, Norfolk, Virginia. To keep the celebration going, the 30th Annual AT&T Fourth of July Great American Picnic will take place on Wednesday July 4, 2012 in Town Point Park, Downtown Norfolk, Virginia. Fireworks will light up the sky at 9:30pm for both events on their designated days. Admission for each event is free and open to the public.
The Shore Thing Concert & Independence Day Celebration

Start your 4th of July Celebration off early with a BANG! On Friday, June 29, 2012 from 6pm -10 pm, celebrate our Nation’s birthday at Ocean View Beach Park! This Patriotic beach party is sure to jump-start the weekend with family fun that includes great music, food, beverages, children's activities and more! Dance to live music by Atlantic Groove starting at 6pm and experience a spectacular fireworks display over the Chesapeake Bay at 9:30pm.
The Shore Thing Concert & Independence Day Celebration kicks off the TGOV “Thank Goodness it’s Ocean View” series at Ocean View Beach Park. Every Friday, great live music from local and regional acts will fill the air beside the Chesapeake Bay. It is an event the entire family can enjoy. The concert series runs every Friday through August 24, 2012.

Leave the grilling to us on the 4th of July and bring family and friends down to Town Point Park from 5pm-10pm! Guests can feast on traditional All-American Fare, including hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, seafood, buttered corn on the cob, juicy watermelon, lemonade… with all the fixin’s and much more! While waiting for the fireworks show at 9:30pm, relax on the lawn and enjoy the upbeat melodies of the Olde James River Jazz Band performing on the main stage at 6:15pm followed by the patriotic sounds of the 50-piece United States Army Training and Doctrine Command Band at 8 pm.
